Best Practices: PDF Uploads

While DocJuris supports PDF uploads, .docx files are always recommended for the best experience. If you need to upload a PDF, following these guidelines will help ensure smooth processing.

PDF Upload Guidelines

For the best results when uploading a PDF, make sure your document meets the following criteria:

  • Use first-pass documents only — avoid uploading PDFs that contain redlines or tracked changes
  • Avoid documents with large or complex tables
  • Avoid documents with complex images or embedded graphics
  • Avoid documents with watermarks
  • Use a Word file (.docx) whenever possible for the most reliable experience

If a PDF Fails to Upload

If your PDF meets the guidelines above and still encounters a processing error, it's always worth trying the upload again — intermittent issues can sometimes resolve on a second attempt.

If a contract must be edited within DocJuris but the PDF continues to have issues, we recommend extracting the sections that need review into a separate file when feasible.

When a document fails to upload, the DocJuris team is automatically notified. You can expect to hear from support within 24 business hours. If you need immediate assistance, please reach out to support@docjuris.com or your organization's Customer Success Manager.
