There are two ways to add a contract to your Precedent library in DocJuris. Once saved, the contract becomes read-only and is available as a reference point for future negotiations.
Option 1: During Contract Upload
When uploading a contract through the contract analyzer on the home dashboard, you can designate it as precedent during setup.
- From the home dashboard, open the contract analyzer "Analyze a Contract" and begin a new upload.
- Fill out the required contract information and attach your file.
- Expand the Advanced Options section at the bottom of the form.
- Select Save as read-only precedent for future reference — the last option in the list.
- Complete the upload. The contract will be saved directly to your Precedent library.
Option 2: From the Precedent Tab
You can also add precedent contracts directly from the Precedent tab, without going through the contract analyzer.
- Navigate to the Precedent tab in DocJuris.
- Click the Add Precedent button.
- Fill out the required contract information and upload your file.
- Submit the form. The contract will be added to your Precedent library as a read-only record.
Contracts saved as precedent are read-only and cannot be edited. They are available across your Precedent library as a reference for future negotiations.
